6.44-inch big screen, Sony flagship Z Ultra mobile phone will release soon

According to inbluemall.com media reports, Xperia Z Ultra is likely to release on July 22 in Taiwan, allegedly selling price will be around NT $ 24,000, About 5000 RMB. However, this price is more cheaper than Sony Dutch website exposure € 719 (5,780 RMB).

The secretiveness on part of Sony has resulted in tech world already abuzz with the possible specs and features available on the gadget in the Xperia series. The handset or the phablet is being awaited for multiple reasons by not just Sony fans, but Android fans across the world as this huge phablet will not just better than other Android phablets, but will also come with many top of the line features Sony handsets are famous for.

The new phablet from Sony packs a 6.4-inch display which runs at 1080p (Full HD) resolution. We haven’t seen a phablet of this size (or close to it) boasting 1080p screens yet. Moreover, it’s powered by the latest Snapdragon 800 processor from Qualcomm, clocked at 2.2GHz, with 4G-LTE thrown in. Snapdragon 800 was recently benchmarked with some impressive scores never seen on a mobile chip ever before.

As you’d expect, Sony Xperia Z Ultra weighs 50g more than its little (relatively speaking) sibling, the Xperia Z. Even with a weight of 212g, the thickness stands at a meager 6.5mm, much like the newly announced Huawei Ascend P6. Other specs include 16GB of in-built storage, microSD slot, 3,000mAh of battery pack and 8MP rear camera.

Other specs made public by elecitem.com suggest the Xperia ZU should arrive powered by Qualcomm’s top-spec Snapdragon 800 chipset, with the quad-core processor clocked at a stonking 2.2GHz and backed by the same 2GB of RAM as used by most of today’s high-end smartphones.A 3,000mAh battery ought to keep the thing running for an acceptable amount of time. Given that Sony has been inviting journalists to attend a series of launch events around the world on June 25th, we may well see this rumoured thing become an actual reality later this month.

Besides unveiling the Z Ultra, Sony also announced the sequel to its less-than-impressive SmartWatch. The new SmartWatch 2 comes with NFC capabilities and is now water-resistant (which means it will survive a few splashes, but will not survive a dunk underwater).
